Beyond the Tide: Practical Approaches to Sargassum Response
The 3rd EU-Caribbean Global Gateway Conference on Sargassum will take place on 8 October 2025 in Brussels, in the framework of the Global Gateway Forum. Building on the momentum of the 2nd edition, this year’s conference will focus on moving from pilot projects to scalable, sustainable solutions for sargassum management.
Decision-makers, industry leaders, academia, and financial institutions will come together to showcase successful case studies from the Caribbean, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic, explore financing mechanisms, and forge partnerships to transform sargassum challenges into long-term opportunities.
Organised under the EU–LAC Global Gateway Investment Agenda (GGIA), the conference will be a milestone in advancing concrete deliveries ahead of the EU-CELAC Summit 2025.

Under the theme “Turning the Tide: Sustainable Practices and Economic Opportunities for Sargassum in the Caribbean Basin”, it addressed ecological, economic, and societal impacts of sargassum blooms, while exploring sustainable management strategies.
