Viet Nam and the European Investment Bank signed a memorandum of understanding to support the implementation of the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) in Viet Nam, signifying a mutual commitment to put in place a multi-projects credit facility worth €500 million.

At the Global Gateway Forum in Brussels, Agence Française de Développement (AFD) signed a contract to jointly finance the construction of the Kakono hydropower plant in Tanzania. Through this agreement the EU and the AFD will jointly contribute €146 million, about half of the total cost of €296 m.

The agreement marks the launch of a project – to be implemented by ITC and funded by the EU – to support the Government of Turkmenistan in acceding to the World Trade Organization and in becoming a member of the multilateral trading system.
