3rd EU-Caribbean Global Gateway Conference on Sargassum

Beyond the Tide: Practical Approaches to Sargassum Response

The 3rd EU-Caribbean Global Gateway Conference on Sargassum took place on 8 October 2025 in Brussels, in the framework of the Global Gateway Forum. Building on the momentum of the 2nd edition, this year’s conference focused on moving from pilot projects to scalable, sustainable solutions for sargassum management.

Decision-makers, industry leaders, academia, and financial institutions came together to showcase successful case studies from the Caribbean, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic, explore financing mechanisms, and forge partnerships to transform sargassum challenges into long-term opportunities.

Organised under the EU–LAC Global Gateway Investment Agenda (GGIA), the conference is a milestone in advancing concrete deliveries ahead of the EU-CELAC Summit 2025.
